Singapore, 19 September 2022 – iSabel, a tech and data-led health care company that provides employers the insights, tools, resources and experiences to address employee well-being and workforce sustainability, announced the appointment of Dr Rodrigo Rodriguez-Fernandez MD, MSCIH, MSC, DTMPH, FRSA, FRSPH, as its Chief Well-being Officer (CWO).
Dr Rodriguez-Fernandez brings a proven track record of more than 15 years in senior medical officer and advisor positions across multiple countries. He joins the founding team at iSabel to lead and bolster the company’s evidence and science-based approach to building resilient workforces and the future of workplace well-being across four pillars – mental, social, physical and financial.
“I’m delighted that Rodrigo has joined our team. I believe he will be an invaluable asset to iSabel as we continue to ramp up our capabilities to support our clients and the rapid growth of our business in Singapore, India and abroad.” said Meilin Wong, CEO & Co-Founder of iSabel.
“His extensive medical experience and industry knowledge will help us enhance our commitment in two key areas: (1) provide our corporate clients with tailored solutions they need to support their people’s well-being in a truly meaningful way and address their workforce sustainability, and (2) advance our well-being solution to reduce the impact of human stress on the autonomic nervous system, enabling our corporate users to thrive in life and at work,” said Wong.
“I’m excited to be part of iSabel and its impact-focused mission. We are at a critical juncture where health has proven to be a key part of businesses continuity. Organizations that embrace this notion will continue to thrive while those that see employee health as merely a benefit will struggle moving forward. I am excited to be part of this new evolution and will continue to put health and well-being at the center of the conversation,” said Dr Rodriguez-Fernandez.
In addition to his role as CWO at iSabel, Dr Rodriguez-Fernandez is Global Health Advisor at International SOS where he provides strategic and operational direction for mental health and corporate well-being as well as non-communicable diseases programs. He is also Senior Lecturer at The University of Manchester. Previously, he served as a special advisor to the World Health Organization, USAID, the World Bank, the European Commission, as well as Ministries of Health in Latin America, Africa, Europe, Central Asia & Southeast Asia in the areas of health system strengthening, health policy and NCD prevention. He is also a Cordon Bleu trained chef.
He trained as a medical physician and public health practitioner at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Harvard Medical School, Charite University Institute of Tropical Medicine Berlin and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
